Frequently asked questions.

Are there term limits for Community Advisory Board members?

In this formative stage of the project, there are no term limits for Community Advisory Board members. Members are expected to remain involved and attend scheduled meetings for at least a year. This may change in the future as the project evolves.

What should I do if I am interested in becoming involved with this project? Are there any requirements to be a Community Advisory Board member?

A good place to start would be to send an email with a brief message expressing your interest to Roxanne Mirabal-Beltran, the project’s principal investigator.

At this time, there are no requirements to be a Community Advisory Board member except to be interested in promoting the success of the project. We are especially interested in community members over the age of 18, who currently reside in DC’s Wards 4 and 7. We look forward to hearing from you!

Are there a certain number of hours per month required from a Community Board Advisor member?

There are no required hours that you need to complete every month. The only requirement we have for this role is attending quarterly meetings, which last about 1-2 hours. Based on feedback from other Community Advisory Board Members, these meetings happen during the evening on a weekday. Additionally, we may reach out via email for your feedback. As this project evolves, there may be additional requirements added to this role, but you would be informed of this well  in advance.

Can I attend a meeting if I am not a Community Advisory Board member?

Absolutely! We welcome anyone interested in learning more about how to support this project. Please send a message to Roxanne Mirabal-Beltran, the project’s principal investigator, asking to be added to the invitation list for the next Community Advisory Board meeting!
